Mathcad 14 means business

Last year Mathsoft was acquired by PTC, a leading vendor of product
development systems. Any concerns Mathcad users had were soon put to
rest when Mathcad 14 appeared, because as well as compatibility with
PTC’s
leading CAD/CAM solution, PRO/ENGINEER, Mathcad 14 has a great deal to
offer both existing and new users.
So what’s new in this latest version?
To begin with, you can now compare worksheets visually, and search them
more efficiently. There are new operators to streamline vector analysis
calculations; more and better ordinary differential equation solvers;
and you can now enter linear systems of ODEs in discipline-correct statespace
notation.
Also new is inline numeric evaluation,
so you can define and evaluate explicit equations in a single statement.
There’s a new maths font, full Unicode
support and support for several new languages, and much more. For a fuller
list of what’s
new in Mathcad 14, click

Never used Mathcad before?
But if you’re still using spreadsheets for your engineering calculations,
you owe it to yourself (and your organisation) to take a look at Mathcad.
Because there’s
really no reason to hide the logic of your calculations behind cryptic
expressions and embedded macros, in hard-to-validate cells, using an application
primarily designed for business and financial calculations.
Like a spreadsheet, Mathcad updates all your
equations, tables and graphs when you change a variable; but there the
similarity ends. Mathcad uses standard mathematical and engineering notation,
so if you can write an equation, you already know how to use it! Your equations,
text, graphs and diagrams are all clearly visible on the page, so it’s
easy to follow, easy to spot errors, easy to validate and verify, easy
to reuse your designs and solutions in the future.
There’s a lot more we could say about Mathcad; but why don’t
you see for yourself? We have 10 online movies that show you just what
new Mathcad 14 can do for you. |
