Maple T.A. Components
Maple T.A. consists of a web and content server, a Maple
transaction router, and the Maple engine for mathematical computations,
all combined into a single, easily installable and maintainable server.
Access to the server is through web browsers, for authoring content, taking
tests, and for administration tasks. No special client components are
required. No special knowledge of web servers is required. All necessary
components are included inside Maple T.A.

Maple T.A. Server
The Maple T.A. server consists of 3 major components:
Maple T.A. Server
Handles all web transactions, including creating and displaying pages
and capturing student responses. Manages updating of student records,
question banks, assignments, and passwords. Keeps track of which instance
of each test the student wrote, when assignments are available, class
sharing, and more.
Maple Router
Handles the communication between the server and Maple.
Maple Engine
Maple T.A. is powered by the mathematics engine of Maple. Maple is the
world’s most trusted general-purpose mathematical problem solving
software. It contains a comprehensive suite of mathematical solvers, intelligent
symbolic algorithms tightly integrated with industrial-strength numerical
solvers, and a powerful intuitive programming language.
Maple T.A. Clients
Students access Maple T.A. via a standard web browser. No other software
needs to be installed directly on the client machine. The student may
access her or his assignment from different computers at different times.
Instructors need only a standard browser to access the authoring and
class management environment. The instructor can work on her or his class
from the office and from home without having to install extra software
on either machine.
Administrators can do virtually all administration tasks easily via a
web-browser.
