JNetCalc provides a convenient, easy-to-use user interface to the computer
algebra system Maple. It is designed for students at the Calc III level or
below.
Before you can use JNetCal, you must have the "
Java Runtime Environment 1.3.1 or better
" installed. If you see a button labeled "JCalc" on this page, you meet this requirement. Otherwise download that software and return to this page.
If you start the applet for the first time, it will take a while to
initialize. If you visit this page again, using the same computer, the
applet will start much quicker unless an updated version of JNetCalc is
available.
To start JNetCalc, click on the button
above. If you do not see a button, install the
JRE 1.3.1 or higher
first.
JNetCalc requires a MapleNet server. Currently there is a beta version of
that server running on our system so you can experiment with the software. Maple
retains all rights to the MapleNet software and may modify or terminate it at
any time.
Before you start using JNetCalc, make sure to visit the "Usage" page with
some tips and tricks.
To get a quick idea about JNetCalc, visit the "Screenshots" page
JNetCalc is also available as a "stand-alone" program which allows you to
save and retrieve your work as well.
