Analog Plant Simulator

iml_S18-anplantsima.gif
Challenge:
Design an electronic control system from fundamental blocks.

Description:
Ideal for a first course in controls or an introduction to signals and systems this system consists of a series of electronic circuits that simulate the behavior of linear dynamical systems and allows for interconnection and trimming to achieve a variety of responses. The system is supplied with 3 first order lags, 2-second order lags, one PID controller, three gain, two differential amplifiers and a summer. This system can be used to study linear system concepts such as time constant, steady state gain, damping, resonance and PID control. Easily interfaces to the MultiQ to perform data acquisition, modelling and hardware-in-the loop experiments.

Difficulty:
Undergraduate first course signals and systems / Graduate
